About weChook Racing

weChook Racing are a team currently competing in the Greenpower Trust’s F24+ race series, consisting of Ian, Matt and a large pile of pink spraypaint.

The team was formed after the International Final in 2014, when we both had had finished our time in the Jaguar Land Rover graduate team; Driven. Having not had our fill of the competition (and figuring we could do a better job than JLR could) we decided to go it alone and formed a team in Ian’s shed.

We made two cars during the 2015 season. Our first car – Electric Boogaloo – competed in three races in the first half of the season, achieving its best result of 7th at the Merryfield heat. In the 2 and a half month summer break we built Electric 2galoo, which competed at 5 events over the second half of the season. It was an altogether more competitive car, achieving two podium finishes and ending the championship in 7th position, making the weChook Racing the highest place new team in 2015. During the season, we also picked up the ‘Spirit of Greenpower’ award, IET Engineering Award and the Siemens Digital Award.

After the 2015 International Final, we started design work on Electric 3galoo. We’ve aimed for improvements in all areas over 2galoo, and this year we’re hoping to be able to go for the win!
